Professor Indika Karunathilake

Professor Indika Karunathilake is the Secretary-General and former Second Vice-President of APACPH, as well as the APACPH Regional Director for South Asia. He has been closely involved with ECN in an advisory capacity since 2006, guiding and mentoring numerous ECN members to leadership positions. Professor Karunathilake is a leading expert in Medical Education, having conducted extensive research and authored numerous publications in Medical Education and Public Health. He has nearly 27 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented over 100 research papers at international and national levels. His research interests in Public Health include control of NCDs, smoking, obesity prevention, and disaster management.

Professor Low Wah Yun

BA, MSc, PhD, AFBPsS, CPsychol

Professor Low Wah Yun serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Asia- Pacific Journal of Public Health. She is a former First Vice-President of APACPH and previously held the position of Head of the Research Management Centre, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Professor Low is actively involved in teaching, research, service and consultancy. She has published 20 books and book chapters, as well as approximately 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Her research expertise spans various areas, including behavioral science, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, men’s health, and aging.

Professor Bruce Maycock

PhD, M Ed., Dip. BM, BPhyEd

Professor Bruce Maycock,  a former Secretary-General of APACPH, held the position of  Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Curtin University, Australia. Currently, he serves as the Head of the School of Public Health within same faculty. Bruce has authored numerous articles covering a wide range of diverse topics. His publications include work on competency development and training, quality management and health promotion, health promotion advocacy, program evaluation in health promotion, drug use, policy development, and international health promotion training.

Professor Elahe Nezami,

MA, PhD

Professor Elahe Nezami is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate, Masters, and Professional programs of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She formerly served as the APACPH Regional director for USA. Additionally, she serves as the Director of the Master of Science in Global Medicine program at the graduate level, and as Director of the Global Health and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies programs at the undergraduate level, including eight affiliated minor programs. Furthermore, she is the co-director of the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering – Wireless Health Technology program. Her research interests revolve around the examination of  determinants of behavioral risk factors associated with chronic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. She is also involved in research projects exloring personality characteristics in relation to cardiovascular disease, and self-medication theories of smoking.

Dr. Victor Hoe

MBBS (Mangalore), MPH (Malaya), MPH(OH)(Malaya), MEng(SHE)(Malaya), MOSH (Turin/ITC-ILO), Ph.D.(Monsah), FAOEMM, FAMM

Dr. Victor Hoe is a highly qualified professional with expertise in medicine, public health, engineering, and occupational safety and health. He has engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration with engineers, IT specialists, and dental experts resulting in innovative approaches for COVID-19 risk assessment in hospitals. Dr. Hoe is actively involved in research and consultation projects  related to occupational and environmental health. Additionally, he holds the position of Chair for the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia Working Group, where he oversees the IAP’s Climate Change and Health project. Dr. Hoe’s broad expertise enables him to make significant contributions to the development of solutions for public health challenges in various settings.

Associate Professor Naruemon Auemaneekul

B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD

Dr. Auemeneekul is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Thailand. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from Chaing Mai University. Her expertise is centered around Public Health Nursing and School Health Nursing. Dr. Auemeneekul’s research is concentrated in critical areas such as child abuse, violence against women, vulnerable populations, community health, and tobacco. Her dedication to these topics, along with her extensive academic and professional background, establishes her as a prominent figure in the field of Public Health Nursing, making substantial contribution to healthcare policies and practices.
